Our client is an ambitious software business with a remote team of 14 Developers across the UK. Trusted by major public and private sector organisations, their flagship product manages over 1 million employee health records, aiding in employee protection and support for those with health conditions in the workplace.


Role overview:

Our client seeks an enthusiastic PHP Developer to join their team. You'll collaborate with a team of 10 developers, maintaining and enhancing the core system used by numerous blue-chip clients. Your responsibilities include problem-solving, PHP development, task ownership, client interaction, and code maintenance. You'll also contribute to scoping, planning, and implementing new system features, along with client support.

Essential Experience:

  • OOPHP V5.6 to current, writing well-structured code adhering to PSR standards
  • MySQL (including MyISAM and InnoDB storage engines), writing well-structured, normalised, and efficient database schemas
  • JavaScript (Native and jQuery)
  • MVC Framework knowledge, ideally with Laravel
  • Linux OS server environment understanding, Debian/Ubuntu preferable
  • Good knowledge of GIT
  • Building and consuming APIs
  • PHP automation testing
  • Fast learner with strong problem-solving ability
  • Organised with good time management skills
  • Friendly with excellent communication skills


Desirable Experience

  • AWS experience
  • Vue experience is advantageous
  • Docker containers knowledge
  • Terraform experience would be beneficial
  • CSS frameworks such as Tailwind
