Our client is a London-based cloud technology company specializing in enhancing online safety by collaborating with cloud providers and their customers to secure the essential elements of the internet.


They are industry leaders in the Kubernetes and Cloud DevSecOps space. They focus on securing the next generation of software systems and provide organisations with a risk-based adoption guide for implementing best practices.


The position:


  • This is a remote position, looking for an experienced Python software developer, who has good experience and familiarity with tools and practices in the Cloud Native ecosystem, such as Kubernetes, Helm, and so on. 
  • You don’t need to be a DevOps specialist, in setting up Kubernetes clusters, but understanding how to build, secure, and scale your applications in Kubernetes is important, as well as creating Helm charts for your cloud-native apps.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the platform's scalability, reliability, and efficiency to meet business and client needs
  • Focus on continuous delivery and observability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement the market data roadmap
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pipeline performance and customer satisfaction
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in cloud data management and operations


Essential experience:

  • Significant recent practical experience with Python
  • Practical experience with automated testing frameworks (pytest)
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of HTTP REST APIs
  • Practical experience with and an understanding of Kubernetes and Helm charts
  • Practical experience creating and managing Container Images (e.g. Docker)
  • Understanding of CI/CD best practices and a range of build tools
  • Understanding of the whole SDLC
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar
  • Practical experience working within a Scrum environment
  • Practical experience with Git command line


Desirable experience:

  • Understanding or familiarity working with any of Snyk, Artifactory API, Splunk API
  • Understanding or familiarity working with GitHub and Bitbucket API
  • Familiarity with Authorisation and Authentication protocols such as OAuth, or LDAP
  • Experience with Secrets Management platforms e.g. Hashicorp Vault, CyberArk
  • Development experience with Golang, Java, or other mainstream languages
  • Cloud security awareness and a desire to build hardened systems
  • Experience with GitOps tools and practices
  • Experience with one or more cloud providers and Infrastructure as Code tools and practices
