Role Overview:

Join our client's dynamic team as a Data Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in transforming and optimising data within Snowflake. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impactful insights.


Snowflake Data Transformation:

  • Utilize Snowflake's SQL transformations, stored procedures, and user-defined functions (UDFs) to manipulate and prepare data for analysis.
  • Design and implement automated data transformation tasks using Snowflake Tasks and Streams.
  • Implement continuous data ingestion pipelines using Snowpipe for real-time data loading and transformation.

Tableau Reporting:

  • Connect Tableau to Snowflake as a data source and leverage Tableau's data preparation tools to clean, transform, and blend data.
  • Develop interactive and visually compelling Tableau reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present insights derived from Snowflake data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable insights through Tableau visualizations.
  • Optimize Tableau performance and maintain Tableau Server infrastructure for efficient report delivery.

Data Analysis and Optimization:

  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within Snowflake data.
  • Optimize Snowflake data models and query performance to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to design and implement data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing data in Snowflake.

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in Python development with a focus on data transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and proficiency in SQL.
  • Familiarity with Tableau for data visualisation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
